Stuart Gilbey
Managing Director BEng MBA CEng MIET
Stuart co-founded SEMP in 2015 after a successful career working on a diverse range of infrastructure and defence projects. A chartered engineer and the SEMP representative on the INCOSE UK Advisory Board, Stuart provides the operational and strategic innovation leadership across the company. Stuart’s passion is leading teams applying optimised systems engineering to make a real difference to the delivery of infrastructure projects.
Derek Wynne
Founding Director BSc MIET
Following a career spanning 25 years, Derek co-founded SEMP in 2015 and has led the growth of the company to its present day. Derek has previously held senior positions with full technical and delivery responsibility for large capital expenditure programmes alongside managing transformation and organisational change.
Paul Eastwood
Technical Director BSc MEng CEng MIET
Paul joined in 2022 to help accelerate the growth, capabilities, and success of the business while supporting the leadership of the people within SEMP in the UK and internationally. Over the last 30 years, he has held several senior posts providing systems thinking, systems engineering and systems integration services to clients in the transport, technology, water, and energy markets. Key to Paul’s success has been his ability to grow, develop and lead teams of systems approach practitioners at all levels of experience, and create an environment focused on providing customers with the project outcomes they intended.
Neil Edrich
Client Relationship Director BEng (Hons) CF APMP
Neil has an extensive background in infrastructure engineering with Tier 1 contractors and international engineering companies with expertise in the rail, water, waste, nuclear, and highways markets. He plays a pivotal role in driving growth and expansion by developing strategic relationships and strengthening client engagement.
Abby Haran
Finance Director FCA BSc
Abby is an experienced FD/CFO and fully qualified, chartered accountant (FCA), Abby joined SEMP in 2021. Originally qualifying with Baker Tilly in their London audit team, she now specialises in SME growth and strategic planning. Abby has worked both in the UK and internationally in a range of industries including logistics, professional services, tech, and property.
Mohsen Shafeie
Vice President Canada PEng PMP CSEP
Mohsen joined the SEMP team in 2023 as VP Canada. He brings with him over 20 years in the field and is known for his expertise in system engineering and program management. He has led complex projects, notably safety-critical system designs and software development. At SEMP, Mohsen’s leadership and rapport with key stakeholders make him a crucial team member. The dedication and adaptability he brings to our team significantly contributes to our success.
Geoff Morbey
Director, Assurance MBA ASCT MIAM
With a solid background of over 20 years’ experience in management and mission-critical project oversight, Geoff is a proven leader in operationalizing business assets. Geoff’s expertise in rail safety assurance and regulatory compliance positions him to collaborate with the Business Leadership Team, shaping our multi-year corporate strategy. He plays a pivotal role in steering infrastructure capital programs, ensuring safety, and maintaining regulatory adherence. Geoff’s achievements further attest to his commitment and skill, making him a vital asset to our success.
Richard Harold
Head of PMO
Richard drives excellence in our operational and project performance, overseeing the successful delivery of our projects for clients across all geographies. Prior to joining SEMP, Richard spent over 25 years working across central government departments, FTSE 100 companies, regulators and consultancies – always tenaciously focused on delivering the client’s needs.
Sergio Mammoliti
Managing Consultant - Head of Safety BSc PEng
Sergio has over 30 years of experience in the design and analysis of safety-critical and mission-critical systems with specific concentrations in reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, and risk assessment in the rail transit, railroad, and aerospace industries. He has extensive experience as a Principal Safety and Reliability Engineer primarily undertaking RAM assessment and Safety certification of Positive Train Control (PTC), Communications Based Train Control (CBTC), and Solid State Interlocking (SSI) systems.
Hazel Woodcock
Managing Consultant BEng ESEP MINCOSE
Hazel is a Systems Engineer and Systems Thinker with broad experience across the lifecycle and in a variety of industries, including defence and aviation. She is recognised as a subject matter expert in Requirements Management and Systems Engineering and has supported clients around the globe. Hazel is currently President Elect of INCOSE UK.
Louisa Platt
Operations Manager
Louisa is an accomplished transport professional, having worked predominantly within the rail industry, and having 20 years’ experience including, business development, bidding, contract management, stakeholder management, and resourcing. She possesses a wealth of knowledge from the Middle East, having spent 13 years in the region.
Meghan Belpassi
Marketing Manager BSc MES
Meghan joined SEMP’s Canadian team in 2022. She brings experience in marketing, project coordination, bid preparation and proposal writing to SEMP to support our growth in Canada and internationally. With a background of working with privately owned SMEs, Meghan loves to collaborate with passionate and entrepreneurial teams to build their brands.
Graham Seeley
Principal Consultant - Human Factors BSc
Graham has 18 years’ experience managing Human Factors Integration in the rail sector, including acting as HF lead on significant infrastructure design programs and as a specialist adviser to rail safety programs. Graham has a keen interest in the proactive application of human-centred design principles and analysis, to improve the design of systems, to manage risk and optimise performance.
Grant Shepherd
Principal Consultant - Systems BSc MPhil
Grant is a Systems Engineer with over 22 years’ experience and proven capability across most elements of the Systems V Model, with emphasis on Requirements Engineering and Management, along with Functional Decomposition and Logical Architectures – as well as their implications on the later, right-hand-side phases. This has been gained across several domains, from aerospace to nuclear, automotive to defence (including land vehicles, naval training facilities and guided weapons).
